The Source

The Source is the youth event organised by the Youth Ministry Team, the youth service of the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle. The Source brings young people, Year 9 and above, together for an evening of inspiring talks, praise and worship and socialisation.  Dates and times are published in the youth section of the Parish Bulletin.  For more information check out

At 4AM on Saturday 2nd March a group of excited (and tired) parishioners and young people gathered on a coach to travel to Wembley SSE arena along with over 800 others from Hexham and Newcastle diocese to attend Flame 2019. It was an amazing day full of music, dancing, prayer and friendship. The next Flame will hopefully be in two years time and we would like to extend an invitation now, and set ourselves a challenge, to fill an entire bus with Durham Martyrs Parishioners in 2021! A big thank you to the Parish for supporting our trip and subsidising our ticket costs!

Youth 2000 Retreat

We had a wonderful retreat at Leeds Trinity University. Our young people were a credit to the Parish and took part in the weekend with open hearts. They met God in the Mass, during Adoration throughout the weekend, experienced Prayer Ministry for the first time and were refreshed through the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
