Parish News and Announcements

What is important is that we - as a parish - continue the great work that has been built up over the years. The need for lay involvement will continue to increase with time. The role of the priest will also continue to be central to that life of the parish. Church attendances will continue to decrease for the foreseeable future. I'm sure many of us don't have to go beyond our own families to see this reality.

Some people will choose Mass times that suit their timetable. Other factors will also continue to dictate where we choose to worship. Closures will be inevitable. It is important that we are fully aware of these facts. Let's be positive - and adjust accordingly.

PM Friday 21st February - PM Sunday 23rd February

After attending this retreat last year with a small group of young people we will be heading back to Leeds for this year's retreat! With adoration, Mass, small groups, workshops and some very inspirational talks this is a wonderful opportunity for pupils in year 10+ as well as young adults at university or anyone between the ages of 16 - 35. The cost of the retreat is £45/£55 (Student/Adult) + travel costs (yet to be determined) and we are hoping to do some fundraising to help with the cost of the retreat one weekend beforehand. If you are interested or would like to know more about the retreat do not hesitate to get in touch. Please let Katie know by THIS FRIDAY if you wish to attend as there are limited places and we don’t want to miss out.
