19th July - Reflection from Fr. Colm

Fr. Colm said Mass this morning in St Godric's Church and the reserved Sacrament is back in the Tabernacle.

Fr. Colm has recorded a reflection for the 16th Sunday in Ordinary Time. You can access it from the home page underneath "Thoughts from Fr. Colm" or by clicking the link below where there is also a typed transcript available. Previous reflections are still available but have been archived by week to make It easier for mobile users of the site.

First thank you for the stream of reflections. This is a comment on the very comprehensive Diocesan instructions on Church reopening. Those of us who are of vulnerable age look to see how we can be accommodated at a Holy Mass.

Two suggestions spring to mind both in the open air

Firstly have an outdoor mass in the carpark of St Leonard‘s school whereby attendees would remain in their cars with windows open. The second would be to have another outdoor mass at Finchale abbey where there is ample room for spacing. .

With best wishes, God Bless.
