Precautions re: spread of Coronavirus COVID-19

Following a discussion between Margaret, the chair of the Parish Council and Fr. Colm in light of taking precautions against the coronavirus the following steps were implemented at 5pm Mass this evening and will continue in the parish for as long as necessary. The announcement will be read out at all weekend Masses 29th Feb/1st March 2020.

The steps are:

· No water in fonts

· Nod to neighbour rather than shaking hands at Sign of Peace

· Ministers to use hand gel sanitiser before distributing Holy Communion

· Holy Communion by Host only

· Only one Eucharistic minister needed – this should be the first one named on the rota for each Mass to avoid confusion
