Thought from Fr. Colm - 15th February

A moving documentary was on BBC4 recently on the extraordinary courage of journalists facing horrific circumstances. The programme is from the Storyville series and is called 'Under the Wire'. It is a wonderful exposure of courage and decency in the midst of the most awful carnage imaginable in Syria. Including the courage of journalist Marie Colvin and photographer Paul Conroy. Sadly, Marie Colvin lost her life in her efforts to repor report to the world the tragedy and brutality that was the city of Homs, Syria. The number of journalists killed doubled last year from the previous 12 months. 34 of the 53 were targeted reprisals because of their work. Bless their courage.

The documentary is available to view for the next 22 days on BBC iplayer https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0002k62
