Thought from Fr. Colm - 24th May

We had a good Parish Council Meeting on Tuesday. An open discussion on many areas and challenges for the future. A representative from the Council will present a detailed account at the Sunday Masses. However, areas that keep cropping up are the usual. How do we make our churches more welcoming, especially towards young people? Finances are always a concern. Maintenance of church buildings will be a big challenge in the future. Succession: do we have the people to fill in the roles now filled by such dedicated parishioners? These were some of the discussion points. Succession as defined by the Oxford Dictionary:" A number of people or things of a similar kind following one after the other."
