Year of St Joseph

To mark the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the declaration of Saint Joseph as Patron of the Universal Church, the Holy Father has proclaimed a “Year of Saint Joseph” from 8 December 2020, to 8 December 2021.

The Finchale Partnership has 4 churches with a dedication to St. Joseph, and during this Year of St. Joseph we will be celebrating by providing a variety of different materials for you. The first parish will be Durham Martyrs and our Liturgy Group have produced a prayer pack and resources for the Feast of St. Joseph on March 19th.

The pack is available to view/download below. There are also recordings featuring parishioners and Fr. Colm for the feast day of St Joseph with intercessions, and the Seven Sorrows/Seven Joys of St Joseph. Included in the pack alongside the readings/intercessions/sorrows in written form is a brief history of St Joseph's church, a prayer and instructions on how to make an altar to St Joseph (from virtualstjosephaltar.com) and a colouring page for children.
