Children's Liturgy
"By the mouths of children, babes in arms, you have made sure of praise"
- Matthew 21:16
Children's Liturgy takes place both at St. Godric’s and St. Joseph’s during the Sunday morning Masses, for the children from school age to those receiving the Sacrament of the Eucharist in Year 4.
We'd love you to join us for Children's Liturgy on a Sunday during Mass. We read the Gospel in a child-friendly way and then talk about what it means to us.
Your ideas and opinions are so important and the rest of the congregation really enjoy hearing about them and seeing the drawings, colourings or crafts that the children make to help them to understand the meaning of the Gospel story.
We have a lovely, supportive group of children who join us most Sunday mornings and you'd be very welcome to attend.
Join us at St Godric's 9:00 am Mass or St Joseph's 10:30am Mass.
Can Parents or Guardians attend?
The Diocesan Safeguarding Department indicate that parents should not normally attend children’s liturgy with their children. To this guidance there are two exceptions:
• If the child has learning difficulties/disabilities or medical needs and the parent is there as a carer to help.
• At the first session for the child, the parent may attend to settle their child. However if the child is unable to be left alone with the group leaders, then they may be too young for the session.
