"By the mouths of children, babes in arms, you have made sure of praise"
- Matthew 21:16
Children's Liturgy is offered in St Godric's during 9:00 am Mass, in term time, for children aged 3-11 years old. Fr. Colm will invite the children to Children's Liturgy after the first hymn and they will return after the Offertory. All children are invited and no membership is required. The Liturgists focus on how the children interpret the Gospel and encourage them to think of ways of living the Gospel in the forthcoming week. The children also take turns to explain to the congregation what they have done in Children’s Liturgy that morning and this helps promote self confidence and public speaking skills.
The 11 am St Joseph's liturgy is for children aged 1-9 years
All children coming to mass are invited to liturgy. There is no membership and one does not need to come to mass regularly. Fr Colm invites the children to the front after the first hymn. A crowd of children gather and process with the liturgy books to the rooms adjacent to the church where the liturgy is held. If you’re late to Mass at St. Joseph’s, then use the side gate between the Presbytery and the Jubilee room. The children rejoin the congregation at the offertory.
The liturgists are people who are eager to present the Gospel messages to children in an understandable way. We currently are in need of more volunteers to assist with Children's Liturgy, if you could help in any way please contact the Parish Office.
