St Godric's Church Development Group

The SGCDG was formed in 2017 at the instigation of Fr Colm.The group comprises around ten members and tends to meet every 6-8 weeks.The remit is two-fold;

  • To raise funds and submit bids for the Church repair/maintenance programme

  •   To develop the use of the building as a resource for the local community

The Russian Choir Concert in November 2018 is a relatively recent example of extending the use of the building.

Looking ahead the Church will be one of the venues for a major Celtic Spirituality Conference being held in Durham in August of this year.

This “wider use”aspect may well lead to further developments and may also open up the opportunity of submitting further bids for grant funding.
