Confirmation Programme session 1

Our Parish Confirmation Programme is collecting expressions of interest. Please email www.sacramentofconfirmation2025@gmail.com  and we will respond before Christmas to share further information.

The first session will be held on 7^th January 6-7pm in the Jubilee Room at St. Joseph's in Gilesgate. This session should be attended by those wishing to receive the sacrament and a parent. Further dates and expectations will be shared at that session. Please ensure you email to express interest so we can prepare for accurate numbers attending. 

Youth led Mass Sunday 14th December St Joseph's

On Sunday, 14^th December, St. Leonard's will lead a youth-led Mass in St. Joseph’s at 10:30am. They will be writing the Bidding prayers used.

Thank you for supporting the Community Christmas Fayre

Thank you to everyone – including our parish schools - for making our Christmas Fayre such a huge success.  You were all so generous with your very kind donations, your time, energy, hard work and enthusiasm.  Many visitors came into St. Joseph's for the very first time, and some returned from last year’s Fayre. They all commented on the warmth and welcome they received from our parishioners from throughout the Durham Martyrs Parish.  Many of the local charities who came along are struggling at the moment and were extremely grateful for the opportunity to raise their profiles and they were greatly encouraged by parishioners interest in their work and support.  Santa Claus was a great success and has promised to come back next year!

The magnificent sum of £1425.06 was raised and will be shared amongst various charities in the coming weeks.
