St Joseph's Catholic Primary School

This week the children in Year 6 will be taking their SATs tests.  We are offering a free breakfast club for all year 6 children during SATs week.

On Wednesday 13th  May the children in Year 3 and 4 will be attending Mass in church at 10am. All families and friends are welcome to attend.

Loving God, as our children begin their SATs this week, fill them with peace, confidence and courage.

Guide their minds, calm their worries, and bless their families with patience and support.

May they always know Your love is with them in all they do,                                            Amen

St Godric's Catholic Primary School

This week we welcomed Paul and Dan, two Durham police officers, who visited our Year 3 and Year 4 classes to talk about staying safe online. The children engaged really well and came away with some clear, practical guidance.

Our Early Years Stay & Play sessions have also continued, and it has been great to have parents in the setting, joining in with activities and seeing the children’s learning first‑hand. These sessions always strengthen that sense of partnership between home and school.

Next week, our Year 6 pupils begin their SATs. Each morning, the children will be offered a choice of breakfast items to help them start the day well, with the much‑anticipated bacon and sausage sandwiches on Thursday to mark the final day of the tests. The children have worked with real focus and determination, and they are ready. We continue to remind them that SATs are only one small part of their time at St Godric’s. Please keep them in your prayers during the week ahead.

Good Luck to Our Year 6 Pupils!  Next week, our Year 6 pupils will be sitting their SATs tests. We would like to wish each and every one of them the very best of luck.

They have worked incredibly hard throughout the year, showing determination, resilience and commitment to their learning. We are very proud of all they have achieved. While these tests are important, what matters most is that they try their best — which we know they will.

To help make the mornings a little easier, school would like to warmly welcome pupils into school earlier than usual to join our free Breakfast Club. It’s a chance to enjoy a healthy breakfast, settle nerves and start the day feeling calm and prepared.

We keep our Year 6 children in our thoughts and prayers as they take this next step, and wish them confidence, success and peace of mind throughout the week.

St Leonard's Catholic Secondary School

We're extremely proud to announce that 5 of our Year 13 pupils received their bronze John Paul II awards this week. These were presented to them in celebration with the rest of the year group. Our pupils have worked hard throughout the past 2 years volunteering and giving up their time to help others in both school and the wider community. They have led liturgy in school and been excellent role models to younger pupils. We look forward to seeing what our Year 12 group achieve next year.
