Parish News and Announcements

Our annual Memorial Sunday Mass will take place on Sunday 24th November at St. Joseph's at 3.00pm. All families of deceased parishioners who have been bereaved during the year 1 st November 2023 – 31st October 2024 will receive a personal invitation from Fr. Colm to come along and light a candle in remembrance of their loved ones. Fr. Colm will light three larger candles (one for St. Joseph’s, one for St. Godric’s, and one for St. Bede’s Chapel) which represent the deceased members of the wider parish and our families and friends. These will be lit at every Mass until Christmas. Please come along to the Mass and join us for seasonal refreshments in the Jubilee Room afterwards. Everyone welcome.

Thank you once again for your amazing, very generous donations to our Fayre. It's almost here and we are really looking forward to a special Parish/Community event. Many of you have signed up to help in preparations as well as on the day itself. Our final 'ask' is for donations (with ingredient information) for our cake stall. These can be brought into church on Friday 15th or on the day. During the Fayre we will be taking a limited number of pictures for our social media feeds. Please let one of us know on the day if you don't wish to be photographed. Our final plea is to spread a warm welcome to families and neighbours. We're hoping our Fayre will be a huge success when we will have the opportunity to spend time together and learn of the amazing support in our Parish and wider Community. Santa has confirmed he is able to visit! Cynthia (cdunn2112@sky.com) or Erica (e.smith47@outlook.com).

We will welcome all of our young people wishing to receive this sacrament, with their parents, to meet in the Jubilee Room at St. Joseph’s Church in Gilesgate next Wednesday, 13th November at 6pm. All participants should have received an email to confirm this. We look forward to seeing you there!
