Join us on Thursday 24th October at 7pm for a Quiz Night in the Jubilee Room. There will be rounds on TV and Film, Sport, Music, History and General Knowledge with a dedicated children’s round for any young families attending. Not forgetting the picture round! We have also invited the new students from Durham University to attend as a chance to get to know the parish. Come along for an enjoyable evening with light refreshments. All welcome.
Sadly, Deacon Peter Lavery died after a short illness. Peter will be familiar to all those who participated in pre-marriage courses organised by the Diocese.

He was also very supportive in this parish at both St. Godric’s and St. Joseph’s leading funeral services, baptising and marriages. A straight talker, he was challenging but fair at clergy meetings. Always available to help, he will be greatly missed. He was the model of what the Ministry of the Diaconate is. May he rest in peace.

The catecheses for the Sacrament of Confirmation are now ready to roll out. Many thanks to those who are leading here.
Mass will be held at 9am in St Joseph's Church on Monday 7th October with a rosary for peace beforehand in response to Pope Francis' call for prayer for peace in our world.
